These gentle shampoo bars are kind to your hair and the planet (no plastics) and yet give excellent performance, leaving hair shiny and strong. They are long-lasting, great for the environment, suitable for everyday use and, in my humble opinion, just fab! They are suitable for vegans.
Sicilian Lemon – The essential oil promotes hair growth, cleans and strengthens hair. It adds volume and shine to hair whilst helping to control oil production. Lemongrass helps promote a healthy scalp. A gorgeous citrus scent to this zesty shampoo bar.
Palmarosa is the newest shampoo bar to the Todburn Shampoo bar range. As with my other shampoo bars, it is small but mighty, packing a fresh, floral scent. It contains 100% natural Palmarosa essential oil which is believed to be an excellent moisturiser for hair and scalp.
Lavender essential oil is beneficial for all hair types as it is believed to promote hair growth. Patchouli is effective for a dry, flaky scalp and has moisturising and hydrating benefits. This soothing, floral blend is great for your hair and scalp.
Orange & Chamomile – Roman Chamomile essential oil is believed to be beneficial for dry and brittle hair. Meanwhile, orange essential oil helps improve overall scalp health, improves hair growth and hair texture.This fabulous shampoo bar also has Jojoba oil which helps to condition and moisturise the hair.
About the Ingredients:
On first impression, the shampoo bars might have unfamiliar-sounding ingredients but, hopefully by reading below, you will see that they are in fact very gentle and great for your hair:
Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate is a mild foaming agent derived from coconuts. It has high foaming performance whilst being extremely mild, leaving your hair soft and silky. It is naturally derived and biodegradable.
Panthenol Powder (Pro vitamin B5) improves the texture of hair whilst also improves suppleness, strength and sheen.
AC Plant Keratin PET is a plant-based alternative to animal keratin, made by blending amino acids from plants in the same proportions found in human hair. Wheat, corn and soy proteins are combined to enhance the hairs’ moisture binding ability by penetrating the hair shaft, strengthening the hair and improving elasticity and shine.
Dehydroacetic acid & Benzyl alcohol are both Organic compounds which are accepted for use in natural cosmetics as a preservative. The Organic preservative compound is a non-paraben, non-formaldehyde, non-isothiazolone based preservative system. The preservative conforms to the requirements of COSMOS and ECOCERT.
I use cosmetic grade mineral pigments to add colour to the shampoo bars as I found the botanicals tended to fade too quickly. These can be identified by a CI number.
As with my soaps, I only use carefully chosen pure essential oils to add fragrance and for their hair enhancing properties.

In case you are wondering why I didn’t put goats milk in these shampoo bars… I tried the shampoo bars both with and without goats milk and preferred them without, which is actually great as it saves all my creamy milk for my goats’ milk soaps (where it really contributes to the soaps’ gentleness and moisturising capabilities) .

Essential oils are amazing natural ingredients but need to be used with a little caution. They shouldn’t be applied to broken skin nor mucus membranes and are for external use only. If irritation occurs, discontinue use. Please consult a doctor before use if pregnant and always keep out of reach of children.
These shampoo bars are made in small batches – there may be slight variations in colour. Please allow your shampoo bar to air dry between use – ideally on a soap dish.

I love this product so much! It smells amazing and does a fab job. My roots normally get really greasy after a day but using this shampoo meant I got an extra day out of my hair before it needed washing again. Also, great for people with sensitive skin as I have Psoriasis on my scalp and it didn’t agitate it at all like a lot of other shampoo/hair products do.

The holy grail! I’ve tried loads of shampoo bars on my long, wavy, coarse hair and have always ended up with hair like Hagrid. Until now! This bar lathers beautifully, smells amazing and leaves my hair so soft and manageable. If it manages to keep my dry scalp in check (which so far it has) I’m a convert for life!

This is my absolute favourite beauty product in the world. I struggled to find shampoo bar that worked, didn’t clog my drains, made my hair feel clear and that actually felt like it was doing something. The first day I used this I was sold; my hair felt amazing. And now having used it for years, I am even more impressed. Being someone who used to HAVE to washy hair daily, I now have fresh and clean looking hair even after a couple of days (fully tested for even longer when I had my baby and was stuck in hospital).
If I run out and have to use normal shampoo, my hair is greasy the next day and even by the end of the day it’s limp and meh looking.
And I couldn’t not mention the smell which is also beautiful.
My only complaint, my hubby has discovered how nice it is and now he uses it to, so I get through it twice as fast 🤣
